Meet Madeleine ’26 👋

Reflecting on her time at NJC, Madeleine shares how moving abroad for Grade 12 gave her a new sense of confidence and independence as she prepares for what comes next.

“After moving halfway across the world and creating a new life for myself in the absence of anyone or anything familiar to me, I no longer feel nervous about university or adult life – if I can do this, I feel like I can do anything!”

This September, Madeleine will begin her next chapter at the University of British Columbia, studying Arts. As this year’s recipient of the English Award and Dr. Daniel Andreae Scholarship for Community Engagement, we are so proud of the mark she made on the NJC community. Congratulations, Madeleine! 🎓
Meet Dane ’26 👋

Reflecting on his time at NJC, Dane shares how his year in Switzerland gave him the opportunity to grow, explore new interests, and find balance between academics and new experiences.

“Neuchâtel has helped me develop more within a year than I had in four years. I was always rushing to the next thing, never really sitting and appreciating the work I’d done. Here, I’ve had the time to discover things I genuinely want to do while staying focused on my studies.”

Dane will begin his next chapter at Wilfrid Laurier University, studying Business Administration. Congratulations, Dane 🎓

Alumni, what part of the NJC experience made you grow the most? 👇
Meet Quinn ’26 👋

Reflecting on her time at NJC, Quinn shares how NJC’s pension homestay program became one of the most meaningful parts of her experience in Switzerland.

“To my pension, Jean-Claude and Monique, who are now officially my grandparents, I could not even imagine this experience without your support.”

Living with a local pension family gives NJC students the opportunity to immerse themselves in Swiss culture, experience daily life in a French-speaking community, and build connections that can last far beyond their year abroad. For Quinn, her pension became family. 🇨🇭

This September, Quinn will begin her next chapter at Western University, studying Social Sciences with IveyAEO.

Congratulations, Quinn! 🎓
Meet Ciaran ’26 👋

Reflecting on his time at NJC, Ciaran shares how embracing new experiences helped him discover a new sense of independence and confidence in himself.

“I stepped outside my comfort zone again and again, and by doing that, I built something I didn’t quite understand before… a real sense of independence.”

From Foyer Council and Dare to Dream to sports, hiking, travelling, volunteering, Coffee House and even German lessons, Ciaran made the most of his year in Switzerland by continuing to say yes to new experiences.

This September, Ciaran will begin his next chapter at the University of Victoria, studying Engineering. As this year’s Leonard Wilde Award recipient, we are so proud of all he has accomplished at NJC. Congratulations, Ciaran!

Alumni, comment one experience you’re glad you said “yes” to during your year at NJC! 🇨🇭
Meet Reese ’26 👋

Reflecting on her time at NJC, Reese shares how her year in Switzerland helped her grow in confidence, independence, and resilience.

“This year has taught me that I am more capable and adaptable than I once believed. I have learned to embrace uncertainty, seek out challenges, and grow from every experience.”

From travelling across Europe and taking on new challenges to discovering a passion for leadership and performing, Reese truly embraced what it means to Step Outside. 🇨🇭

This September, Reese will begin her next chapter at the University of Miami, studying Business Administration with a focus on Entrepreneurship. Congratulations, we can’t wait to see all you accomplish! 🎓
Meet Mac ‘26 👋

Reflecting on his experience, Mac shared:

“The community aspect of NJC is its centrepiece and should not be overlooked. While the soft and people skills I have developed are important, these would have been polished at university. And, yes, I will have the diploma, the souvenirs, and the merchandise from my time at Neuchâtel; however, the people, community, and connections are the Holy Trinity of my experience at Neuchâtel Junior College and what I will truly cherish and build my life off of.”

Mac’s words capture what makes NJC so unique. Beyond the academics, travel, and unforgettable experiences, it’s the people, the community, and the lifelong connections that leave the greatest impact.

Congratulations on being the Class of 2026 Valedictorian and receiving the Governor General’s Academic Medal for outstanding academic achievement! 🎓

We are proud to celebrate your exceptional year at NJC and your acceptance into Queen’s University’s Commerce program. Congratulations on these well-deserved achievements! We can’t wait to see all you’ll accomplish at Queen’s and beyond.
